Elizabeth Cheney has been obsessed with stories for as long as she can remember. As a kid, she could always be found with her nose stuck in a book. Not much has changed now that she’s an adult. In college she studied history and literature, with an emphasis on the United Kingdom, feminist history, and the 18th century. After earning her MLIS, she began a career as an academic librarian (or a professional research rabbit hole-r).

Now, she pens stories fueled by the question, “What if?” “What if scholarly dragons used to rule Scotland?” “What if the Black Death never left England (plus faeries)?”

She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her spouse, three cats, and (sadly) no dragons. When she’s not reading or writing, you can find her bird watching, paddleboarding, or baking ALL the biscotti.

She’s currently querying her middle grade historical fantasy, “Fen, the Dragon, and the Bewildering Beetle.”
